About
I’m Karen. I live in Brooklyn with my brand-spankin’-new husband (as in just-married, not newest version) and my weird, broken-tailed, visually impaired cat.
I have a job, but it’s not my thing.
I was diagnosed with Type I diabetes when I was 15 years old. (That is a LOT of self-stabbing.) I acquire fun, new health problems like other people collect dolls or baseball cards. My favorite glucose tabs are CVS store brand grape or raspberry.
I like to drive – really fast – with the windows down and the radio all the way up.
I love Costco. And Staples. And, uh, pretty much any giant well-organized store with shelves and shelves of things.
I’m originally from a very small town in upstate New York. (Small = We had a McDonald’s and street lights, but everyone knew everyone else and you always felt safe.) I miss it every day, but I could never live there.
